That's me!
During the summer I interned at Shelburne Museum with Leslie Wright, the Marketing and Public Relations Director for the museum. While there I did a little bit of everything: organized press clips, worked a press preview, photographed special events, and of course did what interns do best...made lots and lots of photocopies.
Upon completing my internship I was hired by the museum as a sub-contracted photographer for special events (I still feel like a mexican jumping bean whenever I think about it). I was also hired as a freelance photographer by the New York Times to do a shoot for an upcoming article about Champlain's BYOBiz program and more specifically this guy...

In my continued commitment to photography and my developing interest in China I have elected to take China Mobile Journalism and Chinese Film in order to more closely study various aspects of Chinese culture through my passion for photography.
Beijing Bicycle directed by Wang Xiaoshuai was the first film shown in my Chinese Film class.
Pretty much I'm jumping out of my pants just thinking about all the photolicious opportunities that await me in China. I am (of course) also looking forward to learning about China's rich and diverse history through firsthand experience.
Xie Xie!

I love it already! I am going to read every every post! What were your thoughts about the first movie shown? Recommend I watch it?
ReplyDeleteApparently this is the only way I'm ever going to learn about your life :( Love the title of the blog!!!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are the greatest :) Beijing Bicycle was a great insight into the Chinese film industry. Beware it's very very different from American movies; you watch it more with your eyes than with your feelings as you would a standard hollywood blockbuster.
